Two local high school graduates have won college scholarships from St. David’s Foundation.
Katie Pitchford of Leander High School and Josiah Snowden of Lake Travis High School are among 54 Texas recipients of the Neal Kocurek Scholarship, awarded to students intending to pursue a career in health care, according to a news release.
The award provides up to $7,500 per year for up to four years of undergraduate studies, plus funds for up to four years of graduate studies at Texas colleges, universities and medical schools.
The recipients are matched with a St. David’s health care professional who will act as a mentor and provide guidance during the college years.
