AustinISD_redThough five Austin ISD board of trustees seats are up for election on Nov. 8, only two of the races are contested, so far.

The At-large Position 8 seat, currently held by Gina Hinojosa, will be contested as Hinojosa transitions to the state House of Representatives District 49 race on Nov. 8. Hinojosa won the District 49 Democratic primary in March against multiple candidates.

Candidates Cindy Anderson and David Ryan Quintanilla are both running against each other for the at-large position to be vacated by Hinojosa.
