St. Michael’s Catholic Academy selected Michael W. Kipp as its director of athletics Jan. 28.
“Mike Kipp is a proven leader and someone who will be able to look carefully at our programs and determine which are working well and which need attention,” Head of School Daniel G. Dolan said in a news release. “I know that he believes in and supports our vision of athletics as part of the overall student experience and that he is fully committed to our concept of developing the whole student.”
Kipp’s past experience includes coaching in Blanco and New Braunfels ISDs as well as serving as athletic director at private Christian boarding school San Marcos Academy, the release states. While at San Marcos Academy, Kipp founded nonprofit group Gridiron Heroes Spinal Cord Injury Organization to help athletes who sustain severe spinal cord injuries.
