Pflugerville ISD is working on technical issues parents are facing with a new information portal the district began rolling out this school year.

The Focus Parent Portal is intended to serve as a way for parents or guardians to view their child's class schedule, attendance and grades as well as messages from the district.

PfISD trustee Larry Bradley said parents who have multiple children in the district sometimes cannot see all of their children's information through the portal.

PfISD Director of Technology Victor Valdez said district staff is working on the issue. He said the district sometimes cannot match siblings in batches and have to do so individually and verify those matches via an email or phone call. He said about 5,000 sibling matches have been confirmed so far.

Superintendent Alex Torrez said the staff is working to fix any technical issues that have arisen during the rollout.

"We know [technical issues are] something we’ll be working through over the next several days," Torrez said. "Overall, I feel our team is very response working around the clock. We opened the parent portal and had quite a few positive responses."
