Parents of Dripping Springs ISD students can now easily access pertinent details about campus news and events on their smartphones. A new mobile app for Dripping Springs ISD families is available for use as of this month, the district announced March 23. The app is available for free on iTunes and Google Play. Director of Communications Dale Whitaker said the app will enable users to customize news and calendar events by campus. "A parent can go into the settings function and they can choose what campuses their students are at, and then from then on news and calendar [features] will report on items at those campuses only," she said. Users can also access a campus staff directory, maps, as well as access to the student handbook and the ability to make payments for cafeteria use, district fees and Community Education programs. The app was developed using feedback from surveys and meetings with parents, Whitaker said. "It really was just looking at ways to better serve our families and keep them connected to the district in ways that people use today," Whitaker said.
