The district has appointed a new principal for McNeil High School.The RRISD board of trustees named Courtney Acosta the new principal Dec. 16. Acosta served as interim principal since former principal John Yonker resigned for another district role in August. Acosta graduated from Texas A&M University and Lamar University, a news release states.

For five years Acosta was an associate and assistant principal at McNeil. She was also a science teacher and instructional specialist, the news release states.
