Leander ISD announced Nov. 13 that Lucas Janda is the lone finalist for the district's chief financial officer position, which will be vacant when Ellen Skoviera, assistant superintendent of business and operations, retires at the end of December.
Since 2011, Janda has worked as the CFO in Forney ISD, a district east of Dallas with about 8,500 students and 13 campuses in 2013. Previously from 2007–11, Janda worked as the CFO in Stafford Municipal School District, according to LISD.
The recommendation to hire Janda will go before the LISD board of trustees during its Nov. 20 meeting.
"Mr. Janda is committed to building upon the strong foundation of financial integrity in LISD and to strengthening its focus on debt reduction and financial transparency," LISD Superintendent Bret Champion said in a statement. "I'm confident he will be an addition to the team that will continue to drive our vision forward."
Janda has a bachelor's degree from Texas A&M University in College Station, according to LISD.
