Leander ISD canceled all classes Jan. 28, citing deteriorating road conditions due to icy weather.
Earlier in the morning, school officials had planned to maintain normal hours. The school district then moved to a two-hour delay before announcing the suspension of classes.
Veronica Sopher, executive director of school and community relations, said some LISD buses had already completed their routes before classes were canceled.
"They'll be served lunch, and they're safe and warm," Sopher said.
Meanwhile, the city of Cedar Park said that local trash and recycling pickup will be delayed by at least two hours Jan. 28. But city offices and facilities remain open, including the Cedar Park Recreation Center and the Cedar Park Public Library. All will keep their usual operating hours, staff said.
