WHAT WE REPORTED Chinos and Gringos, originally a food truck, opened a brick-and-mortar location in April, featuring dishes inspired by co-owner Tom Hsieh’s knowledge of Chinese cuisine, with a nod to Texas’ spin on Mexican food.

THE LATEST Several menu items have been added, including the chicken adobo rice plate and Dragon Breakfast Tacos—Hsieh’s take on dan bing, a Chinese savory pancake, but in a tortilla. Hsieh hopes to have a beer and wine license by February.

WHAT'S NEXT Hsieh said he is in talks with Austin Scoops to develop an ice cream flavor exclusive to Chinos and Gringos.
