With many specialty pizzas in Austin costing more than $20, brothers Michael and Ronald Lee are offering customers more pie at a lower cost.
Flaming Pizza, located in The Domain, gives customers their choice of unlimited toppings on an 11.5-inch pie for $8.29.
“Customers get to create their own pizzas, and we make it right in front of them,” Michael said.
Similar to Chipotle Mexican Grill, customers order their pizza through an assembly line of sauces, cheeses, meats and fresh vegetables.
Michael said Flaming Pizza does not skimp on quality, and a variety of sauces—including red, spicy red and white—are made in house daily. Pizza dough is made from scratch, Michael said, and he and Ronald shop regularly for local vegetables to use for toppings.
The eatery also offers a customizable dinner salad for $8.29 as well as beer and wine. Flaming Pizza opened in The Domain on April 30, near Yogurt Planet, which Ronald also owns.
“Business has been picking up since the day we opened,” Michael said. “We’re getting a lot of repeat customers, and they’ve all enjoyed our pizzas.”
