In an 8-3 vote, Austin City Council approved a zoning change April 20 for Lantana IV, a 9-acre mixed-use development slated for 7717 Southwest Parkway, Austin.

Developer Doug Ivey of JDI Holdings LLC said the zoning change from an LR, or a neighborhood commercial zoning designation, to a GR, or a community commercial designation, will allow for an additional 1,500 square feet to be added to the patio on the development’s restaurant end cap.

At full build-out, Lantana IV will include an office building, WonderWell, which is a private early childhood school, and a building with retail space, office space and a restaurant.

Ivey said once building permit reviews are complete, his goal is to acquire a bid for construction in September, at which time the eight-month build-out timeline can begin.
