The Hutto Economic Development Corporation, which aims to bring new businesses and job opportunities to the city of Hutto, is seeking a volunteer board member, the organization announced March 30.

The seven-member board of directors is selected by the Hutto City Council and directors serve three year terms, according to the organization.

Erin Klingemann, Hutto EDC interim president and CEO, said applicants for the open position must live in or own a business in Hutto and be prepared to carry out the duties of a board member.

"We have board meetings the third Tuesday of every month at noon," Klingemann said. "The [new board member] will need to attend theboard meetings and support the Hutto community."

Funded through sales tax, the EDC was established in 1996 through a city-wide vote, according to the organizations website.Applications are availablethrough the citys website at www.huttotx.gov/boards and in the lobby of City Hall, located at 401 W.
