Summer Camps Guide The Austin Dog Alliance teamed up with Lake Travis Community Library for an event this weekend.[/caption]

Events in the Lake Travis and Westlake area this weekend offer education and entertainment, with opportunities to practice reading, attend a concert, and more.

1. May 20: The Lakeway Activity Center celebrates its Summer Kickoff that includes the different types of classes and camps the facility offers families throughout the summer. Tables around the room feature class instructors and allow community members to preview courses through onsite activities. Some of the classes at the kickoff include Young Rembrandts, Cool Learn Grow and Little Medical School. The event also includes a complimentary lunch. 10 a.m.-1 pm. Free. 2. May 20: San Antonio band Two Tons of Steel performs at the Hill Country Galleria’s Saturday Night Concert Series. 3. May 20: Hosted by St. John Neumann Catholic Church, Susan Conroy offers prayers and wisdom from Mother Teresa. Conroy is the author of “Praying with Mother Teresa,” and was friends with Mother Teresa during her life. The event benefits the Mary’s Touch Catholic radio program and includes breakfast and a book signing. 10 a.m.-1 p.m. $35. 4. May 20: The Lake Travis Community Library and Austin Dog Alliance present Bow Wow Reading, an event that encourages children to practice reading skills with a dog.
