Austin Habitat for Humanity will host a grand opening Nov. 21 for its new ReStore and Community Home Center and ReStore at 500 W. Ben White Boulevard.

The nonprofit had a soft opening in October for the new ReStore, which is a retail outlet that sells discounted construction materials, home furnishings and appliances donated by area residents.

The new 53,000-square-foot headquarters building replaces the previous ReStore location at 310 Comal St. The $3.5 million renovation had been underway since February.

The grand opening ceremony Nov. 21 will feature speakers including Austin Habitat CEO Phyllis Snodgrass, Austin City Council Member Sabino “Pio” Renteria and Austin Mayor Steve Adler, according to a news release. The event will also offer activities for children such as face painting, a bounce house and crafts. The event will take place from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
