The former home of Opal Divine's on West Sixth Street will become Steampunk Saloon by the end of June.

The new bar at 700 W. Sixth St. will combine a prohibition 1920s-era theme with industrial aesthetics to introduce the steampunk theme, co-owner Clay Woody said. The establishment will be divided into three sections, with the downstairs bar being the first one to open.

The other two phases, an upstairs bar and lounge as well as a backyard patio, will open at later dates, which are not yet determined, Woody said. The upstairs area will offer a more upscale atmosphere, and the backyard patio will include a beer garden that includes yard games, such as shuffleboard, Woody said.

Cocktails made using high-quality ingredients will be served from the downstairs bar, craft cocktails and wine will be served at the upstairs bar and beer will be served in the backyard, Woody said.

There will also be three food trucks lining the Steampunk Saloon's back alley that will serve patrons in the beer garden. Two of the food trucks will be East Side King's Thai-Kun concept and Dock & Roll Diner, Woody said, and the third truck has not yet been decided. Thai-Kun will not leave its current location at Whisler's but rather this will be the food truck's second location, Woody said.

Steampunk Saloon will likely open at 2 p.m. each weekday and 11 a.m. on weekends and close at 2 a.m. each night, Woody said.

No website has been launched so far, but Woody said he hopes to have one up soon.
