Kenichi, a Japanese cuisine restaurant in downtown Austin, closed its doors earlier this week.

Staff at the restaurant were told on Monday the business was closing because it had been sold to chef Tim Love.

Love announced via his personal Twitter on August 12 that a second Lonesome Dove Western Bistro would open in downtown Austin. The first Lonesome Dove opened in 2000 in Fort Worth, according to Love's website.

All content has been removed from Kenichi's website with only a "We Have Closed" message on the homepage.

An opening date for Lonesome Dove has not yet been determined, according to a member of Love's staff. Love owns four other restaurants in Texas.
