Members of Austin's creative community can now submit their works for consideration to be a part of a four-week holiday shopping event that starts Nov. 28.

The 14th annual Blue Genie Art Bazaar begins the day after Thanksgiving and runs through Christmas Eve at the Marchesa Hall & Theatre, 6226 Middle Fiskville Road, across from Highland Mall. The event each year includes thousands of handmade artworks, jewelry, clothing and gifts for sale from regional artists.

All submissions are included in a selection process conducted by Blue Genie organizers. This year, up to 175 artists' works will be showcased—35 more than last year—including works from artists in Houston, San Antonio and Dallas, according to a news release.

"Our goal is to continually surprise and excite our customers with creative and unique artisan goods," said Dana Younger, Blue Genie Art Bazaar co-founder, in a written statement. "This year we're looking for standout collections that catch our eye."

The deadline for artists to submit applications is Aug. 24. The cost to apply is $35. For more information, visit the online application page.
