Bee Cave City Council voted at its Feb. 12 meeting to modify a section of Vail Divide where it turns into the Bella Colinas subdivision. The change will create an unsignaled T-intersection for the roadway at Vail Divide and a portion of the same street, which officials say will likely be renamed Vail Divide Court.

"The proposed improvements will realign the existing southern end of Vail Divide from curving east into the Bella Colinas subdivision to an alignment that continues south along the common property line between the Bella Colinas subdivision and the LTISD property," a city document states. "A T-intersection will be created by this southern extension with the realignment of the existing east/west Vail Divide within Bella Colinas Section One. Cinca Terra drive’s southern end will be realigned to tie into the realigned east/west Vail Divide within Section One of the Bella Colinas Subdivision."

Information from the city states construction of the Vail Divide realignment should take about six months, and a traffic-control plan is included in the site plan for the modification.

Changes made to Lake Travis Middle School site plan

Bee Cave City Council made two specific changes to the Lake Travis ISD Middle School site development plan the body approved in December 2017. The decision effectively changes grass on the football field to artificial turf and adds a school bus loading area.

City documents state the purpose of the school bus loading area will function for participants and players of competitive events and will receive buses coming from Vail Divide. The documents also state the football field was originally to be natural grass, but LTISD officials decided to switch to artificial turf which will cover about 2 acres, or 86,708 square feet.
