Williamson County residents unsure of how to dispose of household hazardous waste will be pleased to hear that the county and Houston-based Waste Management, a disposal company, will host a free waste collection event Sept. 30 at the Williamson County Expo Center. The event takes place from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Residents are invited to bring their items to the Expo Center at 5350 Bill Pickett Trail, Taylor. The county asks that participants bring products in original containers with labels, if possible, and to avoid mixing or consolidating products.

While household cleaning products, indoor pesticides, automotive products and painting supplies are accepted, agricultural chemicals, explosives like fireworks, industrial or commercial waste and wood or brush will not be accepted.
