Property owners wishing to pay their property taxes for federal income tax purposes have two days left to do so in person. The Williamson County Tax Assessor/Collector’s offices will be closed Friday, Dec. 30, to observe the New Year’s Eve holiday. “Many people want to pay their property taxes by Dec. 31 so they can include the payment as a deduction in calculating their federal income taxes for that year," Tax Assessor Deborah M. Hunt said in a statement. Additionally, because the U.S. Postal Service is closed Jan. 2, any payments postmarked on or before Jan. 3 will be posted as being paid in 2016. To avoid lines at the tax office: ·      Payments may be sent by USPS to 904 S. Main St., Georgetown, TX 78626.
