Why are you running?

My run for City Council is solely about my love for the city of Buda—our neighborhoods, diversity, innovative spirit and the youth in our city. I have noticed on social media residents of Buda voicing their opinion for change within our council. A large part of why I’m running is because I, for one, am tired of the lack of vision [and] leadership, which has hindered our collective progress.

What do you see as the biggest challenge facing the city of Buda? 

Like any other city in our area, Buda’s continued growth is a big challenge for our community; the traffic increases yearly on our roads, the city’s resources are being stretched thin as the city’s population continues to grow.

Why do you feel you are the most qualified candidate for this position? 

Communication skills; caring about our community; I work well with people from different backgrounds; my military experience including being deployed in foreign countries working with foreign military, as well as civilian partners have taught me how to be a good and fair leader. I am a good leader, I am able and willing to make the tough decisions required to be a good representative of the citizens of Buda.

What is your biggest priority when it comes to infrastructure? 

One of the biggest priorities when it comes to infrastructure is how we adapt the old Buda with the new Buda.

How do you think Buda should adapt for growth while still retaining its character?

We need to keep focusing on the safety of our residents, focus on the future of the city’s water resources and improving the growing traffic congestion while encouraging the growth of commercial and small businesses, while still trying to keep the small-town charm of Buda, by working with the historic preservation commission and economic development corp. board to ensure, the council is making the right choices to plan smartly the growth in our city.
