Tuesday's weekly Williamson County Commissioners Court meeting was filled with updates on county-wide construction projects. Williamson County also hit a major milestone for voting. Here are three things you need to know: Wilco rallies voters Chris Davis, the Williamson County elections administrator, said the county has surpassed 300,000 registered voters for the upcoming election. Early voting starts on Oct. 24. Roadways in the works  The commissioners voted to move forward with five different roadway corridor projects throughout the county. They can be seen on the map in gold. Senior Director of Infrastructure Bob Daigh, said the plans are a part of the county's long-range transportation plan.  Connie Watson, Williamson County's public affairs manager said moving forward with the roadways could mean more planning and possible right of way work. TxDOT update  Texas Department of Transportation Director of Advanced Project Development, Marisabel Ramthum, gave a presentation to the court concerning SH 29. The project focuses on improving and possibly constructing a new road between SH 130 and SH 95 or a combination, to accommodate traffic and safety concerns. According to Ramthum, TXDot also plans on moving the roadway from the floodplain where possible. The court did not take any action on the item, but TxDOT will hold its third public hearing on Nov. 10 from 6-8 p.m. at East View High School. The meeting will feature a presentation and a summary of comments from the last two public meetings. TxDOT representatives will be on site to speak with citizens one-on-one. Ramthum said TxDOT wants to identify a preferred corridor that could be studied further before moving forward to the next stage, which includes and environmental study and schematics.
