If all goes according to plan, Bee Cave will grow its city limits by nearly 500 acres on Dec. 13.

The Bee Cave City Council agreed to start proceedings Sept. 27 to annex nearly 500 acres in its extraterritorial jurisdiction, or the area just outside of the city’s borders that currently does not receive city services and whose residents are not obligated to pay city taxes.

Public hearings on these annexation proposals will take place Nov. 8 and Nov. 22, and on Dec. 13 City Council will vote to finalize the annexations.

At the meeting, Bee Cave initiated the annexation of approximately:

  • 92 acres southeast of the Shops at the Galleria, adjacent to Spanish Oaks Golf Club and the recently approved East Village Condominiums project, and is owned by Cassandra Interests Ltd.;

  • 0.77 acres on a portion of the property located at 12303 W. Hwy. 71 and is owned by Charlotte and William Barrett doing business as TX Golf Cars Etc.; and

  • 397 acres, with a portion located in the Balcones Canyonland Preserve and is owned by various entities and individuals including nonprofit Nature Conservancy, Limestone Springs Properties, Limestone Creek Properties, Michael Lazorik and the Texas Department of Transportation.
