Rollingwood City Council proposed a property tax rate of $0.2171 per $100 valuation for the 2016-17 fiscal year at its meeting Aug. 17. However, the council intends to lower that rate to $0.1921 by the time the rate is made official Sept. 21. The FY 2015-16 tax rate is $0.2090.
City Administrator Charles Winfield also proposed a surplus general operating budget for FY 2016-17 of about $2 million—a nearly $40,000 increase from the FY 2015-16 adopted budget—and Rollingwood projects to have about $166,000 in general fund surplus revenue at the end of FY 2016-17.
Council is expected to adopt the budget Sept. 21 following a public hearing.
