This year, Buda voters will decide who fills the Place 1 and Place 2 seats on Buda City Council. The last day to file for candidacy was Aug. 22, leaving voters with five candidates to chose from.

Three candidates are running for Place 1. The current council member filling the position, Angela Kennedy, filed as well, but withdrew her application less than a week later.
Theodore L. Kosub, financial analyst, has lived in Buda for just under three years.
John Hatch, consultant, has lived in Buda for almost four years.
Lee Urbanovsky, senior project manager and general contractor, has lived in Buda for 15 years.
Two candidates have filed for Place 2.
Wiley Hopkins, incumbent, is retired and has lived in Buda for six years.
Jeffrey Kevin Morales, state investigator, has lived in Buda for six years.
