The River Place MUD was created in 1985 and includes five board directors elected to staggered four-year terms. The directors have responsibility for MUD operations, including levying taxes, issuing bonds and awarding contracts. River Place is scheduled to be fully annexed into the city of Austin in December 2017.
The River Place MUD has two open at-large positions on its board.
Scott Agthe
Agathe’s top priorities include returning River Place to local control and service through the MUD by disannexing the area from the city of Austin.
Ken Bartlett (Incumbent)
Bartlett's top priorities include representing the community by ensuring the highest quality water, refuse service, parks and trails. He said he has served on the MUD Board of Directors for more than 15 years and experience counts.
Scott Crosby
Crosby’s top priorities include combining the River Place Homeowners Association and the MUD to avoid confusion of who does what, resulting in saving money by consolidating fees.

Voter ID required
Texas voters are required to present one of seven specific forms of photo identification before they may cast their ballot.
Under Senate Bill 14, which was passed by the Texas Legislature in 2011 but did not take effect until a decision by the U.S. Supreme Court on June 25, 2013, voters must present one of the following forms of ID to vote:
- Texas driver’s license issued by the Texas Department of Public Safety
- Texas Election Identification Certificate issued by DPS
- Texas personal ID card issued by DPS
- Texas concealed handgun license issued by DPS
- U.S. military ID card containing the cardholder’s photograph
- U.S. citizenship certificate containing the cardholder’s photograph
- U.S. passport
The following forms of ID will not be accepted:
- Student ID
- Utility bills
- ID cards issued by employers
- Any ID, other than U.S. citizenship certification, more than 60 days expired
Voters who do not have a valid form of ID can apply for an Election Identification Certificate at no cost at any driver’s license office. The EIC is valid for six years, but any EIC issued to a voter older than age 70 has no expiration date. Details on how to apply for an EIC are available on the DPS website, www.txdps.state.tx.us/driverlicense/electionid.htm.
