City Council discussed possible uses for funds from the city’s green tax, or the Edwards Aquifer Venue Project, during its Feb. 16 meeting.
The tax generates approximately $400,000 per year and will have an estimated balance of about $1.7 million at the end of the current fiscal year, according to city staff. Voters in November approved the use of the fund for land purchase- and conservation-related projects throughout the city.
Council members and the mayor did not vote but asked for details and pricing estimates on potential projects for further consideration.
