Fred comes to the library almost every day, where he reads, researches and writes," said Mary Jo Finch, the library director of the district. "Leslie Davis has been on our board for two years already. She brings political experience from her time on Rollingwood City Council and a lifelong love of libraries."

According to unofficial early voting results Nov. 3, Leslie Davis is leading in the race for two vacant Westbank Library District board of trustees positions with 446 votes, or 48.16 percent of votes. Fred Drewe is in second place with 251 votes, or 27.11 percent, and Dita Dauti-Heilman is in third place, with 229 votes, or 24.73 percent.

The two candidates with the highest number of votes will fill the two vacant board of trustees positions for the district.

Mary Jo Finch, library director of the Westbank Community Library District, said the positions carry a high level of responsibility, as library districts are stand-alone government entities.

"We own and maintain our buildings, we manage our own technology and we are responsible for our own [Human Resources]," Finch said. "Our board oversees the finances and policies of the district and monitors the operations of our two libraries to ensure that we are delivering the kind of library service the community deserves."

All results are unofficial until canvassed.
