AUSTIN–On Aug. 10 the Capital Area Metropolitan Planning Organization’s Transportation Policy Board approved $88,896 in funding to extend an existing traffic modeling contract to March.

CAMPO has had a contract with engineering firm CDM Smith since 2012, and the contract extension includes funding a traffic study analyzing the effect of SH 45 SW on MoPac, I-35 and arterial streets.

The Texas Department of Transportation cleared the SH 45 SW project, a limited-access, four-lane, 3.6-mile toll road connecting MoPac to FM 1626 in Hays County, for construction earlier this year.
