In 2021, ACL drew about 75,000 people to the festival daily, with a total of 450,000 festival goers over both weekends, according to a report on ACL’s economic impact on the city.
Here is what to know about getting round:
Getting to ACL
There is no parking at Zilker Park, where the festival is held. ACL has an online tool where festival goers can find parking and pay ahead.
Capital Metro is offering direct routes to Zilker Park and several routes that will take riders to Republic Square, where free shuttles will pick festival goers up. A map and schedule of the routes can be found on their website. CapMetro’s late night routes will be extended until 3 a.m.
CapMetro will also have rentable bikes and will offer valet bike parking at the Barton Springs Road and Sterzing St. bike stations.
For those taking a rideshare, there will be pickup and drop-off points near MoPac at Veterans Drive, Lee Barton Drive and Wallingwood Drive, according to a press release from the city.
Festival goers could walk along the Ann and Roy Butler Hike-and-Bike Trail or take a scooter. There will be designated areas to park scooters, according to the city’s release.
Getting through the airport
Austin-Bergstrom International Airport is expected to see high numbers of passengers during October due to ACL and the Formula One Grand Prix.
According to a press press release, officials are expecting more than 30,000 departing passengers on several days, including Oct. 9, 10, 11, 16, 17 and 18. Last year, ABIA saw a record high number of daily passengers, more than 35,000, on Oct. 25, following the F1 GP.
Passengers should arrive two and a half hours before their domestic flights and three hours for international flights, according to the press release. The roads leading to ABIA are expected to be busier than usual as well.
