The
winter storm slated to hit the Central Texas region from Monday night through Tuesday afternoon is causing cancellations at Austin-Bergstrom International Airport.
Air travelers are being advised to check their flight status before heading to the airport because of winter weather and freezing precipitation expected overnight and through tomorrow, according to an ABIA news release.
A number of arrivals scheduled for 8 p.m. at the Austin airport tonight have been canceled. Because of that, several departures will be canceled tomorrow.
Departing travelers may experience delays before takeoff, and arrivals may experience delays before deplaning because of safety precautions—such as de-icing the aircraft and ensuring aircraft movement areas are clear—necessary during inclement winter weather events, according to the release.

ABIA website to check on the status of a flight going to or from the Austin airport.
