Capital Metro extends service for F1 U.S. Grand Prix weekend


Capital Metro is offering extended rail service this weekend to accommodate 2017 Formula 1 United States Grand Prix attendees. The event is Oct. 21-22 at the Circuit of The Americas, 9201 Circuit of The Americas Blvd., Austin.

MetroRail will run from 10:20 a.m. through midnight on both Saturday and Sunday. The final train will leave downtown at 12:03 a.m. Monday morning.

MetroRail’s downtown station at Fourth and Trinity streets provides easy access to Fan Fest activities as well as to the Circuit of The Americas shuttle site at the Austin Convention Center.

There are park-and-ride lots for MetroRail travelers at the Lakeline and Howard stations.

MetroRail service does not operate to or from Leander on weekends.
