Incumbent Leslie Pool has clinched her renomination to Austin City Council District 7 with 71.9 percent of the votes, or 21,348 votes.
She posted on Facebook late last night thanking her supporters.
"I deeply appreciate and am humbled by your support—and I look forward to four more years working hard on your behalf protecting our neighborhoods and environment," she said. "We have a lot of work ahead, but tonight we can pause and celebrate our local wins."
Challenger Natalie Gauldin received 28.06 percent of the votes, or 8,328 votes.

Incumbent Council Member Leslie Pool responded to Election Night results as they currently stand. Pool leads challenger Natalie Gauldin with 73.1 percent of the vote so far.
"I am excited and honored by the vote totals," Pool said during a watch party at La Mancha Tex-Mex Tavern. "I worked really hard to represent [District 7], and I appreciate the vote of confidence."
Pool also said she was happy to hear the city's $720 million mobility bond proposal showed promise of passing, calling it a vote of confidence for Austin Mayor Steve Adler. She plans to conclude her evening at the Travis County Democrat Party watch party at the Driskoll in downtown Austin.
Gauldin did not respond to calls seeking comment.
Leslie Pool leads in Austin City Council District 7 unofficial early voting totals

Unofficial vote totals from the Travis County Clerk's Office show incumbent Leslie Pool leading the District 7 Austin City Council race.
As of 7 p.m. when polls officially closed in Texas, Pool had 17,640 votes, or 73.1 percent of votes, while challenger Natalie Gauldin garnered 6,496 votes, or 26.9 percent of votes.
So far, 24,136 votes from Texas' early voting period of Oct. 24-Nov. 4 have been recorded, according to the clerk's office.
All results are unofficial until canvassed.
As of 5 p.m. today, nearly 80,000 votes had been cast in Travis County, according to the Travis County Clerk's Office.
District 7 candidates ready for election night

Incumbent Leslie Pool, who has served as Austin's City Council District 7 representative for two years, is planning to watch the election results tonight at La Mancha Tex Mex Tavern, 2203 Hancock Drive, Austin.
The watch party begins at 7 p.m.
Pool is up against Natalie Gauldin, whose campaign spokesperson said she is not having a formal watch party.
