"We're very positive," Garza said. "I think it would have to be a statistical anomaly if anything were to change." She said she plans to stay true to the same priorities she maintained during her first term in elected office, addressing affordability, food availability and traffic issues in District 2. She also thanked her district voters for reelecting her. Additionally, Garza weighed in on tonight's results so far on the mobility bond, which she said she did not support. "I think the voters have spoken, and I respect the decision they've made," Garza said. "I really hope we can see through the promises that we made. I'm concerned that a lot of folks will have big concerns about 'did we address the congestion issue.' I wish we had more invested more in public transit. I think it's a good step but we are going to have to go to voters again [for public transit]." Challenger Wesley Faulkner congratulated Garza and said "hopefully the issues that are brought in this race are addressed." Faulkner held his watch party at Capitol Factory with the Austin Tech Alliance and the tech community. He said he was excited to see "what this group does and their impact on Austin in the future."
