Travis County is pausing applications for rent and mortgage assistance after a high level of demand, the county announced March 16.
The county opened applications on March 1 with $9.2 million to disperse to individuals who owed rent or mortgage payments.
On March 8, the county commissioners authorized staff to close the program once it received the maximum number of applications it expected to be able to fund.
By March 16, it had received more than 4,700 applications, according to a press release.
