Travis County Commissioners unanimously approved adding a bond to the November election Aug. 15. The bond package includes two propositions totaling $509.5 million for roads and park improvements.
The details
Proposition A asks voters to approve $233.06 million for road and safety projects.
The projects include:
- Active transportation safety projects, including adding sidewalks, shared-use paths, bike lanes and signalization improvements to existing roadways
- Adding a shared-use path from Howard Lane/McNeil Road to McNeil Merriltown Road
- Constructing a new four lane divided roadway from Blake Manor Road to Taylor Lane to Burleson Manor Road
- Construction, roadway improvements and the addition of a shared-use path on Rowe Lane from SH 130 to Hodde Lane
- Construction of a new four lane divided roadway and addition of a shared-use path on Cameron Road from Pecan Street to Fuchs Grove Road
- Construction of a new four lane divided roadway with sidewalks and bike lanes on Arterial A
- Construction, roadway improvements and the addition of a shared-use path on Bee Creek Road from Lakehurst Road to Highland Boulevard
- South Pleasant Valley Road: construction of a new four lane divided roadway with bike lanes and sidewalks from Bradshaw Road to SH 45
- Construction, roadway improvements and addition of sidewalks on Pyramid Drive
- Construction, roadway improvements and addition of sidewalk on O’Reilly Drive
The projects include:
- Strategic parkland acquisition
- Construction of greenway trails and amenities at Onion Creek Greenway from the Sat 4 west trailhead to McKinney Falls State Park and Sat 4 east trailhead to Moya Park
- Construction of greenway trails and amenities at Gilleland Creek Greenway from Northeast Metro Park to Ben E. Fisher Park
- Construction of a group building and associated site improvements at Arkansas Bend Park
- Construction of a sports field, a pavilion and hiking trails at Bee Creek Sports Complex
- Installing synthetic turf on four softball fields and four soccer fields at Southeast Metro Park
Early voting is Oct. 23-Nov. 3, and Election Day is Nov. 7.
