Zilker Park's Great Lawn closed to the public Sept. 20 in preparation for the Austin City Limits Music Festival. The lawn, along with adjacent parking lots and certain other park areas, will remain closed through at least Oct. 17.
Although the city of Austin has yet to approve the permit application for ACL, preparations for the festival have begun. The city has also released information about ACL's affect on Austin traffic. Affected roadways include Stratford Drive and Barton Springs Road. More details about Barton Springs Pool access and effects to pedestrians and bicyclists are available on the city's website.
With weekend one of ACL around the corner from Oct. 1-3, festival organizers announced that wristbands for the event were being packaged for shipment on Sept. 16. Festivalgoers will need to present proof of vaccination against COVID-19 or a negative coronavirus test dated no more than 72 hours before the event, according to organizers, although the city has yet to confirm whether proof of vaccination will be accepted.
