Travis County placed a call for bids for the cafe space at the court—which is located at 1700 Guadalupe St., Austin, and opened in December—but received no responses, said Gabe Stock, planning, design and construction division manager.
On Aug. 15, county commissioners approved an agreement to allow Veracruz to operate within the location.
Stock said the restaurant is working on a few last permitting requirements with the city but should open within the next few weeks.
“There are not many restaurants near [the court]. It’s been frustrating for the judges and jurors when they want to go out to get lunch,” Travis County Commissioner Brigid Shea said.
