Craft beer bar and eatery The Brass Tap will open a new location at the Triangle in the former Flying Saucer Draught Emporium space in early August.

The new spot will offer table service for guests—even if they’re just ordering beer—and have a big outdoor patio.

On the menu

The Brass Tap will serve 63 draft beers, offering an even mix among local, regional and international brews. Guests can expect a rotating menu with at least four permanent options, including Guinness and Electric Jellyfish, as well as wine, spirits and cocktails, owner Steve Sheets said.

The eatery will also serve an extensive food menu with shareables, wings, pizza, burgers, tacos, salads and some vegetarian options.

Meet the owner

The new location is led by Sheets, who got into the craft beer business in 2012 after 50 years of working as a lawyer in Round Rock. Sheets opened his first Brass Tap location at 204 E. Main St., Round Rock, 11 years ago and saw the vacant Flying Saucer Draught Emporium space as the “absolute perfect” location for his next bar, he said.

The Brass Tap’s Austin location is at 815 West 47th St., Austin.
