Since Gov. Greg Abbott allowed restaurant dining rooms in Texas to open in a limited capacity May 1, Austin restaurant owners have faced decisions about safely reopening. Some have chosen to open in a limited capacity, some have only opened patios and still others are sticking with takeout and delivery or remaining closed entirely.
In an effort to share information with our readers and let residents know what options are out there for local restaurants fighting to hang on, Community Impact Newspaper started an interactive map with information on locally owned spots throughout the area.
While we can never provide a comprehensive list of every restaurant in Central Austin, this will be a living document that is updated regularly. Readers and business owners who would like to share updates with our editorial team can reach out to us by emailing [email protected].
