Eyewear retailer Warby Parker will open its first Austin location Aug. 27 at 1317 S. Congress Ave.
The store will sell eyeglasses and sunglasses as well as house a writing center for a local nonprofit promoting creative writing among youth.
Warby Parker had a local retail presence with pop-up shops including a yurt and a bus before deciding to open its first permanent location in the city.
The company has more than 30 stores throughout the U.S. and Canada. A second Austin store will open at The Domain this fall, according to a news release.
The store features a writing center for Austin Bat Cave, a nonprofit that provides creative opportunities for children age 6-18.[/caption]
