Season openers are around the corner for two Cedar Park-based teams.

An American Hockey League-affiliate team, the Texas Stars will begin their season Oct. 16. The NBA G League team Austin Spurs will have its first home game Nov. 14.

Both teams play at the H-E-B Center, which is located at 2100 Avenue of the Stars, Cedar Park.

Texas Stars

On Oct. 16, the Texas Stars will play its first home game of the 2021-22 season against the Iowa Wild. Texas Stars is the primary affiliate of the Dallas Stars. This will be the team’s 13th season.


The 72-game season will have 36 home games. The final home game will be April 16.

Austin Spurs

Austin Spurs will begin its 2021-22 season Nov. 5 on the road against the Rio Grande Vipers. The team’s first home game will be Nov. 14 against the Capitanes de la Ciudad de México. This will be the team’s first home game since March 8, 2020.


The season will include two parts: the Showcase Cup and the regular season, according to a release. The team's Showcase Cup games will run from Nov. 5 to Dec. 16. The 36-game regular season will begin Dec. 28 and end April 2.
