Cedar Park public pools are not set to open Memorial Day weekend this year.

The timeline to open the city's three public pools has been delayed due to the coronavirus, and there is no opening date set as of May 13, according to city spokesperson Jennie Huerta.

The pandemic has prevented the city from recruiting, hiring and training summer lifeguards in the spring. The city is now in this process while following guidelines from the state and Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

The city has three pools and one splash pad area, which also remains closed:

  • Buttercup Pool, 411 Twin Oaks Trail, Cedar Park;

  • Elizabeth Milburn Pool, 1901 Sun Chase Blvd., Cedar Park;

  • Veterans Memorial Pool, 2525 W. New Hope Drive., Cedar Park; and

  • Splash Pad at Brushy Creek Lake Park, 3300 Brushy Creek Road, Cedar Park.
