2. Dollar General Literacy Foundation/Mason Elementary School


The Dollar General Literacy Foundation donated $15,000 to Mason Elementary School for the school to rebuild after the February winter storm destroyed parts of the library. This donation will support the library’s restoration by providing new books and creating a space for students to become inspired and engaged in learning, said Denine Torr, Dollar General’s vice president of corporate social responsibility and philanthropy, in a Sept. 20 release. Mason Elementary School is located at 1501 Lakeline Blvd., Cedar Park. www.dgliteracy.org

3. Austin Spurs

The Austin Spurs will begin its 2021-22 season Nov. 5 on the road, according to a Sept. 14 release. The team’s first home game will be Nov. 14 at the H-E-B Center at Cedar Park against the Capitanes de la Ciudad de México. This will be the team’s first home game since March 8, 2020. After the inaugural Williamson County Fair and Rodeo was postponed in 2020, county and fair officials said they are excited to kick off the agricultural celebration.
