Cedar Park City Council appointed Council Member Kevin Harris to the Capital Area Council Of Governments, or CAPCOG, General Assembly, at its Jan. 12 meeting.
Governed by local elected officials, the goal of the CAPCOG General Assembly is to take beneficial actions and make necessary decisions for all of the region. With more than 90 member governments and organizations, CAPCOG represents 10 counties in the region, which includes Travis and Williamson counties.
Harris will be taking Council Member Mel Kirkland’s place, who previously resigned from the position. Council Member Heather Jefts will continue to serve in her position on the CAPCOG General Assembly.
“Thank you for stepping up and increasing your services,” Mayor Jim Pennimnan-Morin said at the meeting.
