Aug. 12 is the first day of school at Leander ISD.

Aug. 13-14 | Watch the Cedar Park Rodeo

The two-day rodeo event will have professional rodeo events such as bareback riding, saddle bronc riding, bull riding, calf roping, steer wrestling, girls barrel racing, girls breakaway roping, team roping and mutton busting. Aug. 14 | Take the Sunset Express

Enjoy a sunset aboard a vintage train car on the Austin Steam Train Association’s Sunset Express. The 44-mile train ride leaves from Cedar Park and travels along the South San Gabriel River. Aug. 14 | Hear Roger Creager perform

Texas country singer Roger Creager will perform at the Haute Spot event venue for the Lightstream Backyard Concert Series. Aug. 17 | Eat Seattle-based pastries

The owners of Piroshky Piroshky, a Seattle-based bakery, will bring their sweet and savory Russian pastries to Cedar Park at a preorder food event. Aug. 18 | Listen to an outdoor storytime

Meet on the Cedar Park Public Library’s front lawn for stories and songs with Miss Jane. Attendees can bring blankets or chairs to designated seat spaces. Registration is not required, and the event is weather permitting. 8:30 a.m. Free. Aug. 21 | Watch ‘Jaws’ on the water

Float on Lake Travis and watch "Jaws" at Volente Beach Resort. The movie will begin after sunset. Attendees should bring their own tube to the event. Food and drinks are available for purchase. Limited parking is available for $7. 5 p.m. Admission includes access to the water park, a firework finale and entertainment. $45 and up. Aug. 21 | Listen to a Motown music celebration

Vocal group Il Divo will bring its "For Once In My Life Tour" to the H-E-B Center. SEPTEMBER EVENTS

Sept. 3-5 | Visit the circus
The Ben Hur Shrine Circus will have six performances over three days in September. The interactive circus will allow guests into the circus floor one hour before the show begins to meet performers and ride the elephants. Also, a free, public elephant brunch will be held Sept. 3 at noon with elephant-friendly food for the circus elephants. H-E-B Center recommends attendees wear masks at events. 7 p.m. (Sept. 3), 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. (Sept. 4), 1:30 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. (Sept. 5). $20-$35.
