Students, teachers and support staff will head back to campuses Aug. 17 to begin the 2022-23 school year.

School will be out Sept. 5 in acknowledgement of Labor Day, which the district recognizes as a student and staff holiday.

LISD will have 15 staff development days throughout the school year in which students will be out of school and teachers and district staff will take time to plan and collaborate.

These days are Sept. 26, Oct. 10-11 and Nov. 8 for the fall semester. For the spring semester, staff development days are Jan. 2, Feb. 20, March 20 and April 10. A few staff development days are before the school year begins.

Fall break will be Nov. 21-25. There will also be an early release Dec. 16 to kick off the two-week winter break from Dec. 19-30. Students will return back to school Jan. 3.


Students and staff will be out of school on Jan. 16 in honor of Martin Luther King Jr. Day, also a district holiday.

Spring break will be March 13-17, and classes will resume March 21. Students and staff will be out of school April 7 for district holiday, Good Friday.

The last day of school will be May 26, which is also an early dismissal day.
