Last November, LISD proposed a $772 million bond package for three propositions: Proposition A for $727.2 million to fund new school construction, renovations and equipment replacements; Proposition B for $33.3 million in funding toward technology equipment; Proposition C for $11.7 million to fund lighting and sound upgrades for high school performing arts centers.
Two out of three of the propositions failed. LISD voters only approved Proposition B, which passed by 805 votes, according to official election results. Proposition A failed by 215 votes, and Proposition C failed by 765 votes.
The board will discuss the potential timeline for a November bond election as well as the Citizens’ Facility Advisory Committee process and the Long Range Planning Committee, which was requested by the board April 7, according to district documents.
The deadline to call a November election is in August.
