After completing the first week of phased in-person learning, Leander ISD will share COVID-19 positive cases and exposures in a public dashboard.

Currently, there are two reported COVID-19 positive cases in the district as of Sept. 11—one Akin Elementary School employee and one Bagdad Elementary School employee. The Akin employee did not visit the campus.

There are six new employee exposures and 11 new student exposures across the district, including:
  • One student exposure at Glenn High School;
  • One employee exposure at Bagdad Elementary School; and
  • 10 student exposures at Bagdad Elementary School.
The dashboard will be updated Fridays at noon, according to the district. LISD will contact families or staff members of positive cases and exposures within each school.

Leander ISD reopened campuses to students and teachers Sept. 8 as Phase 1 of its reopening plan. The next group of students, including second, seventh and 12th grades plus students receiving dyslexia services, will return Sept. 21. All teachers returned to campuses Sept. 8.

Phases can be adjusted after each phase ends based on health district guidance, according to the district.
