A Leander City Council meeting scheduled for 6 p.m. April 2 has been canceled due to technical difficulties, according to the city's website.

The meeting was scheduled to be held by teleconference, according to the agenda, with audio being streamed live on the city's website. Citizens were going to be allowed to submit written statements to be read by a city official during public comments.

According to the agenda, City Council planned to discuss the creation of a COVID-19 Emergency Grant Program, which would have benefited Leander businesses affected financially by coronavirus. If approved, the program would have aided with personnel costs, rent, utilities and other costs.

City Council was also scheduled to approve the zoning ordinance and developer agreement for the Horizon Lake Planned Unit Development/Transit Oriented Development.

The next regularly scheduled meeting for Leander City Council is 6 p.m. April 16, although the city has temporary authority from Texas Gov. Greg Abbott to call emergency meetings on short notice.
